DGEP Practices what it Preaches

One of the most powerful aspect of DGEP’s model is that while it is supporting the racial equity STAMPS Ecosystem upbuilding, it is simultaneously practicing its own principles.  One of the biggest challenges to racial equity is the establishment of economic anchoring institutions in BIPOC communities, especially the black economic ecosystem.  The original upbuilding of Durham’s black Hayti “Black Wall Street” showed this institutional upbuilding and anchoring to be the most powerful part of the model that produced an unparalleled equitable community.  The firms that have been procured to serve as part of DGEP’s professional ecosystem partners are comprised of local black-founded and black-led organizations including women-owned.

These firms – from architectural firms responsible for the construction renderings to the commercial real estate professional ensuring it will be built community based contractors to the firms responsible for the branding and marketing to the attorney and accounting firms making sure the governance and intellectual property of DGEP is all in order to the family-owned HUB certified firm responsible for business planning to the 110-year-old bank that is the depository of funds to the management consulting firm leading the team through the project planning phase – are all black-founded, black-led, and the best in the business at what they do.

A primary function of DGEP is to show that the perspective that black entrepreneurs, businesses, organization, and firms are inferior to their white counterparts is not only a fallacy and misperception, but also an outright untruth.  Until we alter these perceptions and attach black firms to expanding global marketplaces, then there is no hope for racial equity at any level.
