This collection of DGEP partners have incredible range and impact across the United States, but with real racial equity impact on the ground and in local communities.
These partners include Corner Square Capital, a newly formed $200 million fund in North Carolina focused on investing in black businesses and black-led Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) – first in 16 US states and eventually across America. Corner Square will be the first anchor tenant in DGEP Park. The first of many capital providers and impact investors that will locate in the hub – creating the Silicon Valley or Wall Street of racial equity investing – and being a global force.
These partners include the Association of Enterprise Opportunity, a Washington, DC based organization with more than 1,700 member organizations that have helped millions of entrepreneurs contribute to economic growth while supporting themselves, their families, and their communities. AEO’s members and partners include a broad range of organizations that provide capital and services to assist underserved entrepreneurs in starting, stabilizing, and expanding their businesses, including special capital programs for formerly incarcerated individuals. AEO members have helped more than two million entrepreneurs create jobs for themselves and their communities. AEO has secured more than $1 billion federal dollars for microbusiness industry participants since 2001 through policy advocacy efforts. And through AEO-managed programs, member organizations have received $20 million in private funding to improve/expand vital programs and services to underserved entrepreneurs and distressed communities.
These partners include local racial equity funders United Way of Greater Triangle, considered the leading United Way in the United States focused on black racial equity program; and Kenan Charitable Trust, a national funder of racial equity investment programs.
These partners include ProjectDestined, a national nonprofit that uses technology animation, curriculum, mentorships, apprenticeships, and internships to educate underserved, minority youth on real estate development and ownership. A one of its kind program.
DataWorks, another DGEP partner, works with local and grassroots communities to determine goals related to racial equity outcomes and evaluation. Together, these DGEP partners will collaborate to scale racial equity strategy and evaluation to unprecedented levels as part of DGEP.
